The Institute's strategic priorities for the future are:

Global engagement

Industry 4.0 makes it imperative for institutions to be operating on a global platform and scale. The Institute in the short run is emphasizing on revamping the curriculum with globally relevant subjects and reinforcing the knowledge assimilated through guest lectures by eminent academicians and personalities from the international domain, conduct International seminars and conferences, offer overseas internship opportunities and tie-up with academic partners’ worldwide. In the long run, the Institute engaging with premier universities world-wide for student exchange programs, faculty exchange programs, obtain accreditation from global accrediting bodies. The strategic direction is to become a globally-oriented institution that provides education and training according to global standards

Entrepreneurship

RIM understands higher education institutions have a pivotal role in fostering an entrepreneurial mindset in the youth population. The ultimate goal of RIM is to become net Job creators rather than facilitating job seekers or job providers. The Institute has taken efforts in this direction by onboarding the NEN National Entrepreneurship Network program of the Wadhwani Foundation as a part of its curriculum. The Institute has tied up with e.MERG-Engineering manufacturer Resource Group, AWAKE- Association of Women Entrepreneurs of Karnataka, GIGA- Innovation center – a US-based organization promoting entrepreneurs through links with the TIE – The Indus Entrepreneurs a  US-based organization of Indian entrepreneurs. The Institute also organizes within the campus on-campus flea markets, entrepreneurship workshops, etc. Through RIM - GIGA Incubation center, the Institute provides consulting to businesses and facilitates locating funding partners and venture capitalists through the winner’s circle event.

Research & consultancy

RIM takes the approach of systematic inquiry towards creating new knowledge. Students are offered a contemporary data-driven decision-making process through integrated live projects. RIMsupportsthe faculty by supporting research projects initiated by them and among sister Institutions. The Institute has also a tie-up with Ramaiah Public Policy Centre a body for making a significant contributions to public research.RIM will support research initiatives by providing adequate funding for research and a platform for sharing available research facilities. It recommends incentives for outstanding projects, research proposals, and patents. To efforts are to provide students a broader perspective of application-based-education, host professionals from the industry and collaborate with leading industries and universities for collaborative research.

Industry-Academia-Alumni-Interface (IAAI)

To bring about interface through a cohesive and collaborative approach industry, academia & alumni, RIM aims hosts workshops on contemporary topics by the industry, invite alumni to mentor students, leverage alumni relationship for internships & placements of existing students. The Institute has introduced a certificate course of contemporary nature enhancing the skills and competencies of the students. RIM works towards collaborating with the alumni for start-up ventures and accommodates them at the RIM – GIGA incubation center. Through the process the Institute also aims at developing contemporary case studies-based on IAAI insights & adoption of the latest technology from the industry-academia interface.
