Inauguration of New Batch of PGDM 2021-23

The inauguration of the new batch of PGDM 2021-23, began at 11am on August 16, 2021. The program began with the invocation and the Ramaiah Anthem. This was followed by Lighting the lamp & Floral tribute to the founder.

The welcome address was given by Dr Manasa Nagabhushanam, Director (A,R & A). Dr Manasa Nagabhushanam, spoke about the importance of orientation program, the impact it creates on the budding business leaders of tomorrow. Dr Manasa stressed the importance of learning from a practice perspective. The Inaugural address was given by Mr A V Srinivasan, CEO, Meiban Engineering Technologies Pvt Ltd.  Mr Srinivasan spoke about the latest trends, figures and data about various sectors of the industry. He reinforced the aspect of learning on the go and learning at all times. He also gave a glimpse of his work related exposure at Japan and Singapore.

Mr Anirudh Tiwari, Manager-Corporate Real Estate, Solutions at CapitaLand India, (RIM Alumni 2014 batch) spoke about the availability of the best of infrastructure, faculty, and other resources which students have to make use of. Further, they have to be in touch with the faculty at all times and work towards securing a good placement. Dr Gururaj B Urs, Professor RIM, provided an over-view of the orientation cum induction program. He discussed about the major streams in this program as in, Social Immersion, New Age Technologies, Roots to Fruits along with Personality and interpersonal skills sets. He also mentioned that the resource persons for this program are from the industry and practitioners alike, along with few internal faculty members.

 

Sri BS Ramaprasad, IAS (Rtd), Chief Executive, GEF (Engg & Gen Sc) spoke about the present times of uncertainty, volatility, ambiguity and how students must get a grasp of the situation, thereby helping themselves to learn and equip with suitable knowledge and skill sets for sustaining themselves and their organizations. Dr Savitharani R, Registrar Evaluation RIM, provided the vote of thanks. The dignitaries, faculty, the admin and technical staff, the students, parents and all others were thanked for making this session a success. The program concluded by 12.15pm.
