Kotresh Patil

About the Faculty

Dr Kotresh Patil serves as Professor of Practice at MS Ramaiah institute of management and as CEO at DKP Academy for experiential learning. A passionate mountaineer. In his previous stints, he served as a CEO for CIME (Centre for Innovation and Management Excellence); CIME is designed to uplift, curate, and nurture the talent pool of the Kalyana Karnataka region of Karnataka, India. Dr Patil is an associate member of the Indian Society for Applied Behavioural Science and has successfully done a lab on Human Behaviour processing. Kotresh has been associated with Passion Adventure Wisdom Consulting since 2013. During this period, has anchored a diverse set of interventions for participants groups ranging from MBA students to CEOs of companies from various industrial backgrounds. Earlier, he served as a faculty in the marketing domain at various colleges pan Karnataka.

Dr Patil develops and teaches a course on Digital marketing and entrepreneurship for MBA students. He also teaches retail management for MBA students and Marketing Models for research enthusiasts. In his research, Dr Patil aims to construct a theoretical framework to understand the mental processes involved in consumer engagement, web characteristics, and behavioural intentions. He also attempts to explain how the relationship in electronic business is manifested. His interests include Mind Mapping, Micro Mobility, hook frames, relationship management, and understanding how the retail environment influences consumer emotional and buying experience. His more expansive research areas include experiential learning, employee engagement, Training need assessment, and UX/UI. His work has been published in leading national and international journals. Dr Patil has worked on digital marketing case studies/consulting engagements for URDHVA, Recommence luxquisite cosmetics and innovative startups. Dr Patil holds a PhD from Visvesvaraya Technological University, a PGDDM from Mudra institute of communication and an MBA in marketing from Sri Jaya Chama Rajendra College of Engineering Mysore (SJCE). Before completing his PhD, he was a creative consultant for startups pan India.
