Report on Global Immersion Program (Dubai)

The Global Immersion Programme (GIP), Dubai was a weeklong experiential learning engagement organised through Ureka Education by Ramaiah institute of Management, Bangalore from 28th March 2022 to 2nd April 2022 . Ten students and one faculty member comprised GIP (Dubai) of which nine were from Batch 2021-23 and one student from Batch 2020-22, they were Aditya Bhardwaj, Sahana R Dixit, Darshan C Shetty, Karthik K, Sushma Singh R, Suraj Aravind M, Abhijith Raj, S Dinakar, Simranjeet Kaur and M Guna Reddy Varimadugu. The student team was accompanied by Prof. Niharika Mishra, Department of Marketing and international Business and Coordinator, International Relations.

The program commenced on Day 1, with Dubai Business Challenge Rollout and International Strategic Consulting Project rollout followed by city tour.

Day 2, began with an early morning session with Apple Workshop which also highlighted on learning the essentials of photo skills through iPhone, experiment with portraiture and rules of more artful photos. This was followed by visiting Expo, an opportunity to explore 192 countries in one place, where the students were given their task to make a vlog.

Day 3 witnessed visiting Concord Alliances for a welcome session at Jumeirah Plaza by Concord Alliances CEO, followed by sessions on Supply Chain by Mr. Arif Durrani and a session on mergers and acquisition. Later part of the day students attended a conference on Climate Week in Atlantis.

Day 4 involved second task on business model canvas, followed by a visit to Dubai Technology Entrepreneur Campus (Dtec), a platform for startups, for a Sandbox Entrepreneurship Session by DTEC SVP This was followed by Digital Marketing Workshop by Founder – EZMARTECH. Later part of the day was free time for tourist activities.

Day 5, set off with second Industry Visit to Intel Innovation Centre followed by International Communications workshop by University of London alum and Desert safari.

On Day 6, students had final presentations for Dubai Business Challenge including consulting Project followed by awards ceremony and free time in Dubai for shopping

The advantages of Global Immersion Program Dubai were:

  1. Students got exposure to various problem-solving techniques that can be used in professional and personal life.
  2. They gained international industry exposure through industrial visits.
  3. Networking which gave students an opportunity to connect with people and may help in enhancing career opportunities.
  4. Students got exposed to the culture of that country which increases the overall well-being for both individuals and communities.
